Examining previous ancillary work: Digi-packs

Stephanie Jackson 'Rumours'

Strengths: This digi pack uses strong images of the artist which all use a sepia effect, showing consistency throughout the images. The text is in a sophisticated font which conforms with the style of the images. All labels are included such as the bar code and record label sign.

Weaknesses:
  • The design of the actual CD is slightly plain compared to the other sections

Grace 'Journey of the Heart'

Strengths:

There is a consistent cohesion between the font, colours used (only 2 - not too busy) and the background image. All relavent information is included e.g the barcode and record label logo

Weaknesses:

This digi-pack is quite plain, there is not one image of the artist included which is a downfall because fans of the artist will always want to see pictures of them to be able to connect with them. Because of this, we don't even know if the digi-pack is relavent to the style of the artist.

Underdog 'Run Rate'

Strengths:

Consistent colour pallet and font, good images which relate to the genre (whole band, Guitar) Use of synergy - seems that the target image is a feature of other products from the artist

Weaknesses:
  • The red and blue font colours used together are too bright, they contrast eachother and take attention away from the images, whilst looking a bit amateur
  • There is too much going on, too many different images and ideas crammed in to one, would be more effective if it was simpler
